My pictures are a gift to all my classmates and others from this great reunion. Feel free to download them by right clicking on them. The reunion committee's Web site is: http://www.hallhigh59.myevent.com/. My intent is to keep hall59.info alive for at least 5 years, maybe longer.

How about putting yourself in the right mood first for the fifties? Just relax for a minute or two while this song and its video loads. After the song and video plays, just hit the back button in the upper left of your screen to return to this Web site. The video has a break and an abrupt end, but it is great nevertheless. For several of us, this was/is a great experience; Just click here.

Special thanks to Dr. Robert Dunn and Bob Cave, who all convinced me to come - not having attended the previous reunions of this magnificent class. This reunion was one of my greatest and most enjoyable experiences.
Anyone may request a change or removal of caption directly and not through a third party, if we feel that they are negatively depicted. My email address is vicspencer@gmail.com. Updated on 11/8/2009. I recommend a minimum horizontal display resolution setting of 1280 for best enjoyment of high resolution photos.

If you are in the Knoxville, TN area, you are invited to visit us! This is a beautiful area and our home is open to my classmates!

This is the West Hartford Town Hall on 10/8/09. It used to be our high school, and it looks as great as ever!

The Luncheon: October 3, 2009

My MUCH better half, Lois Spencer. Thank you Dave Pye for this picture!

Lois had her third and very complicated open heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH

on Dec. 22, 2009, 6 weeks after this reunion. She was a person that every single person liked, except for

four ladies at this reunion who were quite impolite to her. Even with serious heart issues starting in 1980,

she was always cheerful, a great love and friend with a very sharp mind. She passed away on April 29, 2011

as she was tending her favorite flower garden in front of our house. I was about five minutes late.

I sprinkled her ashes into the same flower garden. I cannot tell you how lucky I was to have had her

in my life for so long.

3
Vic Spencer and John Nolton. I was surprised how much in common he and I have had during my career. It is time for a serious diet for me.

Dottie Selden Stone is the third one from the right. I was most impressed with her remaining nice and kind under pressure, always cheerful at a time when a few others were not during the past. She married a very nice person, George, and hope that we will maintain a friendship in the future.

9
Marilyn Mascalo and Tom Nystrom. Very nice couple. Tom was very helpful to me when I once called for info after the reunion.

10

11
Both Lois and I felt that both Bob and Jane make a very good looking couple.

12

14
Lois my fantastic wife on the right and Betsy and Bill Tuel. I think that we will be great friends.

17
Hank! Hank, are you listening?! If you would like a more serious relationship with her, I will fix you up. Just ask. What are old buddies for?

18

You are not going to believe this! This is Hanafi's bird-call demonstration. He said "The bird is going to be right here in five minutes!" Then he said the magic words "lelle...lelle...lelle..." pointing to his right side. Noki said "I don't think I believe this...". Patty said "This is going to be... a... riot!! Watch Vic smiling! These guys are up to something!". John was thinking "This is a lot of BS." And voila! The bird came in two minutes, set right there, and was all over Hanafi. This man is enormously talented. And funny!! But...I don't understand why Hanafi looks 20 years younger than what his age is supposed to be.

Mary and Ed Tulloch, a great old friend and his beautiful wife. I hope that we stay in touch. Ed asked me what I was doing and had to tell him that I just quit my pole dancing job. I never understood women complaining during my younger days, but I can tell you that it is degrading and awful to be a sex symbol. I understand that now.

38
It's a good thing I spotted the laser pointer on Ron's head. I had to practically yell on the intercom "Wrong target!". Just kidding.

I liked Noki very much. She gave an great speech about her life to date with an incredibly good sense of humor, when in fact she and her husband must have experienced great hardships. I would like to meet both of them some day.

I have noticed this...

The Sunday Brunch: October 4, 2009

71
This is a fantastic composition from the site of our October 4 brunch. I really love it. This picture is ALIVE for me.

72

I am very lucky. Lois is four years younger than I am. My wife is just beautiful, and a very nice person and friend as well. I did not take this photo and would like to thank whoever did it.

73
Bob and Lynne Miller; a great couple that I also liked a lot.

74
Dr. Dunn, our former vice principal, my role model to this date, and his lovely wife. My trip was worth it just to see them.

Richard Horowitz's grandson`s Bar Mitzvah. He posted it on the committee's Web site, but could not attend the reunion. Obviously this event is very close to his heart. I have to tell you what he did for me. I did not have a yearbook, I asked class mates for a copy, three were promised, but ended up getting none for various reasons. I did not ask Dick Horowitz for it. About ten days before the reunion, I received an email from Dick out of the blue asking me for my address because "I understand you would like a copy of the 59 yearbook". I received a complete copy overnight. What an example of incredible human kindness. I will never forget it.

GREAT MEMORIES!

At Janice Nelson's 9th birthday party in 3rd grade: L to R: Marilyn Reed Gengras, unknown, Karen Carlson (Carling?), Patty Newsom, Nancy Waters, Phillis Jones, Janice Nelson Odlum, Linda Peterson, Bea Clutier, Dottie Selden Stone, Kathy Murphy(?), Linda MacIntosh. If anyone can identify some of the unknown girls via email to me, we would appreciate it. Janice Odlum said that you were in Mrs. Gilberto's class. Great memories ladies!

Whoever took THIS picture did much better than I did with the same group, so many thanks to you. These ladies and Bob were class mates in THIRD GRADE! THAT is absolutely fantastic. From L to R: Bev Toomajian Christie, Claire Hospod Bill, Marie Crudele O`Connor, Betty Johnson Holbrook, Bev Jensen Blakely, Bob Cave, Marilyn Mascalo Nystrom

Pictures provided by Jan Castillo who was a classmate of some of you in 3rd(?) grade:

Then we went to the airport to fly back Hartford-Philadelphia-Knoxville. The plan was to use the same aircraft. In Philadelphia we could not go forward because the parking break on the right wheel would not release. It was broken into three pieces. After a four-hour wait, the flight was canceled. We got a hotel room and slept for four hours. Something felt funny in my right ear. It was a suppository. At least I knew where my hearing aid was.

The next morning we flew to Washington, DC. Our luggage was lost but recovered in a day. Such things happen. The US Airways people were very helpful I must say, but we were happy to land in Knoxville, TN finally. The Knoxville area is a beautiful place. It will pleasantly surprise you if you look at it.

Here I am making a landing in Knoxville. Would you like to come along?
Yes I have barf bags.

Here are a few pictures of our airport in Knoxville, TN. The floors and gates are constructed from marble mined in Tennessee.

We do not have much time. Most of our years are behind us. Please remember that.

I picked up the best greeting in my life in the conflict-filled Middle East: "Peace be with you". It is virtually identical in Hebrew and in Arabic, "Shalom Aleihem" vs "Salam Aleikum" respectively. It took me many years to figure out that peace of mind is the most important thing in life. Peace of mind cannot coexist with hate. Yet we hate some others, sometimes for minor things that are really not so important, or on some other person's say so, because he/she is a friend. Yet we all are very imperfect, and we all have warts, and a lovely side as well. See the good side of those you do not like for some reason and forgive their "warts" since we all have them. Make an effort to extend a hand to forgive and make peace. And explain why you were so crabby. It takes substantial character strength to be able to do that. This is not only a good problem solver but it is also great therapy. Do it at least three times if you are not successful. Do not wait for the other person to do it.

Peace be with you always.
