Vic's Tropical Hardwood Projects

These hardwoods are twice as hard as red oak. Some of them are from the Congo in Africa (e.g., Paduak (red), Congolese Mahogany (cream), Wenge (black) and a few are from Central and South America (e.g., Cocobolo (brown, black and cream mix), Brazilian Mahogany (darker cream)and Bloodwood (red satin)). I don't use any stain on these woods; I just use four coats of polyurethane which brings out the wood grain and colors beautifully.

























I saw the above chair at the hotel in Budapest. I decided to design and make the chair below based on it.
